Thorpe Astley Community Centre
General Information
Thorpe Astley Community Centre is licensed for music, singing and dancing. Guide Dogs, Hearing & Guide Dogs are welcome in all areas of the Community Centre. Wheelchair users and pushchairs are cated for as the Community Centre is a single story building with easy access to all areas with no steps and wide corridoors and doors. Equipment available for hire at the Community Centre - Flip Chart, Portable Loop Hearing System. Free Wifi is available at the Community Centre.
Sports Facilities Available
Adjacent to the Thorpe Astley Community Centre there are two tennis courts, a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and one Football pitch. The Tennis Courts and MUGA have floodlights which are available to hire at a small cost if they are required.

Our Rooms
The Main Hall
The Main Hall is available for family events, conferences meetings and recreational purposes. The hall has a wooden floor and serving hatch into the kitchen/bar. Bouncy Castles are permitted in the Main Hall with a maximum height of 2.29m (7.5').

Committee Rooms
A selection of rooms are available for meetings or social occasions for smaller groups. The large meeting room and activity room can be combined and used as one large room if necessary. These room are fully carpeted and fitted with blinds. A hatch is available into the kitchen from the activity room. The small meeting room can accommodate up to 10 people and can be used for meetings, trainings etc. The room is fully carpeted and fitted with blinds.

Kitchen
There is a modern kitchen available for hire in conjunction with room hire. The kitchen has a microwave oven, fridge, tea urn and glass washer. Please note there is no cooker availabe. The Civic Centre can also provide hot flasks/cups, tea/coffee etc, bottled water for a modest charge.
Licensed Bar
We are able to provide a limited bar service at the Community Centre to suit your function by prior arrangement with the Bar Manager Rachel Carter, who can be reached on 0116 2160478. Hirers are NOT allowed to bring their own alcohol beverages.
