Programme of Events 2020
Programme of Events 2020.
Deadline for applications: March 20th 2020.Braunstone Civic Centre and Thorpe Astley Community Centre
Want to run an event?
Our programme of events is a great way to help your group or charity raise funds!
The sponsored Programme of Events is a partnership between the Town Council and local community groups and charities to help raise funds for worthwhile causes whilst supporting a Programme of Events held at the Braunstone Civic Centre or Thorpe Astley Community Centre.
The Town Council will underwrite your event, offer a suitable room without charge, produce and publish a promotional leaflet, posters, flyers, etc. and arrange to advertise the event.
Your organisation will be expected to organise the event and assist with the sale of tickets and promotion.
This sponsorship initiative by the Town Council is a service to local groups and the community and, as such, is required to charge VAT on the tickets sold for all events. Therefore, all monies received and/or unsold tickets must be returned to the Town Council by the date of your function in order for the correct VAT to be calculated.
You should therefore be aware that VAT will be deducted from the monies received from ticket sales and your group will receive a net profit. Any money raised through raffles or selling refreshments organised by your group are not passed on to the Town Council.
Each May the Town Mayor hosts an Awards Evening where groups participating in the Programme of Events are invited to attend to receive the net proceeds from their function.
If you wish to apply for sponsorship in the programme of events, I would be grateful if you could complete the enclosed forms regarding your event and return it to the Braunstone Civic Centre or via email by 20th March 2020 in order for the correct information to be included on the tickets and publicity.
We are looking forward to another very successful Programme of Events and are grateful to your organisation for your interest and support in this initiative.
