Thorpe Astley Community Centre

The Thorpe Astley Community Centre is a modern facility serving the Thorpe Astley community, with sports facilities and rooms available to hire. Thorpe Astley has four rooms available to hire, suitable for groups of 10-100 people.
There is a modern kitchen available for hire, with serving hatches into the Main Hall and the Activity Room – this kitchen includes a microwave oven, fridge, tea urn, and glass washer – however, there is no cooker available.
It is a single storey building with easy access to all our rooms – no steps, and accessible corridors. We also have a full disabled toilet and baby changing room. Guide and hearing dogs are welcome.

The Main Hall
The Main Hall is available for family events, conferences meetings and recreational purposes. The hall has a wooden floor and serving hatch into the kitchen/bar. Bouncy Castles are permitted in the Main Hall with a maximum height of 2.29m (7.5').
Capacity: Capacity of 80 seated at tables, or 100 seated theater style.

A selection of rooms are available for meetings or social occasions for smaller groups. The large meeting room and activity room can be combined and used as one large room if necessary. These room are fully carpeted and fitted with blinds.
A hatch is available into the kitchen from the activity room. The small meeting room can accommodate up to 10 people and can be used for meetings, trainings etc. The room is fully carpeted and fitted with blinds.

There is a modern kitchen available for hire in conjunction with room hire. The kitchen has a microwave oven, fridge, tea urn and glass washer. Please note there is no cooker availabe. The Civic Centre can also provide hot flasks/cups, tea/coffee etc, bottled water for a modest charge.
We are able to provide a limited bar service at the Community Centre to suit your function by prior arrangement with the Bar Manager Rachel Carter, who can be reached on 0116 2160478. Hirers are NOT allowed to bring their own alcohol beverages.
